- Mond Qu
Moving Beyond paper, plan and pylons
What if you could convince the world to believe in a made up island? That’s what Mond Qu did using VR, photos, videos and very creative tagging. What does that mean for designed realities? What does it mean for virtual design? “Mond Qu is a designer, narrative animator and digital craftsman. He is the founder of United Make, an experimental think-tank and multi-disciplinary studio based in Melbourne, Australia.
He explores design through the act of making; from deep materials research, visceral immersive experiences, interactive artworks, modular furniture to large-scale speculations. Mond works between the space of research, practice and teaches internationally from London, Melbourne, Shanghai to focus on the challenges of the 21st century.” This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
