A Touch of Magenta

Set behind the glass in the Gateway precinct and Circular Quay in Sydney, this Zumbo store looks almost completely timber on first glance. As you round the corner, you are greeted with lines of pink, little hidden colours along the sides, and bright pops of magenta enclosing fluffy bread rolls.

These wooden battens flank a 3.5m long cabinet filled with Zumbo’s trademark cakes, and 3m more of breads, pies, macarons and chocolates.

Hanging from the ceiling, 25 lampshades made from recycled coffee grounds that resemble concrete let light filter through them. The lamps are made at our studio at Richmond.
